Let your light shine as a musician

Music teaching at St James’s CE Primary School aims to develop a sense of awe and wonder, excitement, and curiosity and develop an understanding that music is all around us.  We want our children to know that music is collaborative, celebratory and challenging and connects us to others.  Therefore, a high-quality music education should inspire all pupils to come together through the shared endeavour of class singing, ensemble playing, experimenting with the creative process and, through the love of listening to fellow pupils, performing.  We will strive to give the children a love of music that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.  The music will include music from different places, times and styles.  The music curriculum at St James’s aims to equip all pupils with knowledge about music and the confidence to perform.
