To our wonderful school
A message from our headteacher
On behalf of our school family, may I offer you a warm welcome to St James’s C of E Primary School. With a clear vision of igniting passion, empowering learners, and transforming the future, we are committed to providing an exceptional education to all of our pupils. We firmly believe as Ken Robinson said, “Childhood is not a rehearsal,” therefore every single moment matters and we must get it right.
St James’s is a two-form entry, voluntary aided school with a distinctive Christian ethos. We work hard to ensure that we know all of our pupils and their families. Ofsted, February 2018, commented that we are “a large school with a small school ethos”. We value the support from the governing body and PTFA. Close relationships with St James’s church, the Diocese, our local community and strong global links mean that we can work in partnership to provide pupils with the best possible education.
Our caring ethos enables us to create a supportive atmosphere where all children can experience success. ‘Pupils are proud to attend this welcoming school and they greet each other cheerily’ Ofsted, July 2023. Highly committed staff use their expertise to plan and deliver a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum. Pupils also have many opportunities to widen their experiences beyond their classroom learning.
I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of St James’s C of E Primary School and welcome the opportunity to show visitors around our school. If you would like to arrange a tour of the school, please contact the school office.
