Let your light shine as a linguist

French is taught across KS2 where pupils develop a sense of excitement, and curiosity about languages in a way that is enjoyable and stimulating. Being able to communicate in another language enables pupils to gain a broader perspective of the world and can widen pupils’ opportunities and choices in the future. We intend to develop pupil’s communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing, with the aim of making progress in one language - French. We want to build confidence so that the children are not afraid to have a go at communicating in French, therefore multiple oracy opportunities are built into our lesson plans. We also celebrate other languages our pupils speak at home and encourage them to share this with their peers.
