PE

St James Primary School believes that Physical Education (PE) experienced in a supported and safe environment is essential to ensure children attain optimum physical and emotional development, and provides the basis for a healthy lifestyle. We aim to deliver high quality teaching and learning opportunities that inspire all children to partake, and succeed in physical education, as well as developing life skills. Through an engaging curriculum, we teach children essential skills to keep them safe, such as swimming and orienteering. We also attempt to teach children how to collaborate and co-operate with others as part of a team, embedding the core, life-long values of fair play and respect. Ultimately, St James aims to improve not only the fitness, but the social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of all of our children, through the underpinning values that PE promotes.
