St. James’s boasts a wonderful range of out of hours care and activities. The staff running the unit have worked at St. James’s since it opened in 1985 and are obviously well established and experienced.
Every morning from 7.45 we run a breakfast club for pupils whose parents or carers have to be off to work early. Children enjoy cereals, toast, eggs, fruit amongst other things and a chance to chat with their friends before school starts.
Every evening from the end of school until 5.30, there is an after school club which offers somewhere for pupils to play, do their homework, have a snack and generally socialise until they are picked up to go home.
Holiday times mean Holiday Club and although the club does not run every holiday it is available for a lot of hours a year when school is closed for lessons. The club caters for school aged children providing them with entertainment including games, quizzes and may activities such as clay modelling, paper modelling, origami, painting and more. The Key Stage 1 playground is made available and when the weather is nice, so is the orchard and the trim trail.
All of the out of school clubs are manned by qualified staff.
For more information phone the school on 01384 818810, ask at the main school reception, email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or pop into the after school unit based by Pre-School from 3.30 onwards.
