We are absolutely thrilled with the result of our recent SIAMs inspection (28th March 2019). Please see the report here. The children were wonderful during the inspection and made us very proud. Thank you for your continued support, in school and in also from the community.
Thank you ……Mrs Sixsmith
Thank you Alex for raising money for Red Nose Day 2019 by selling cakes
On Saturday 2 March a team of children from St James’s attended the British National Schools Trampoline Finals in Cannock. They held their nerve and produced routines of a lifetime to come in 2nd place in the UK. Also competing on an individual basis was year four pupil Fliss, who managed to secure an individual 3rd place in the UK. We are really proud of the children showing such hard work and dedication throughout their training and for such great team work on the day! As a school we are really proud to see them return to school with such fantastic results.
Annalee asked Mrs Sixsmith if she could launch a campaign in school to support a local charity who are collecting Easter gifts for children who live in children’s homes. We have been so pleased with how our school community have supported Annalee as we now have a mountain of Easter eggs in school! Thank you everybody!
Donations of gifts can be brought into school up until 29th March.
Well done to our debate team who went to the Council Chambers to debate with other local schools.
Three Y5 girls planned and led an assembly with the whole school to discuss the use of plastic in our world and the devastating impact it is having on our planet. They launched a poster design competition to help raise awareness of how we can all do our part to reduce the amount of plastic being used.
Thank you for all the donations we have already had into school for Annalee’s (Year 2 pupil) project. She has told us all about wanting to support a local initiative by collecting Easter gifts to help make Easter a bit more special for children who live in children’s homes. We will be accepting donations up to 29th March.
Our Christmas fundraising raised a huge £1350 which has been donated to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Classrooms in the Clouds. Well done to all the children taking part in:-
- Reception Year Christmas Nativity Play
- Year 2 Christmas Sing-a-long with family and friends
- KS2 Carol Service
- Christmas carols at Sainsburys Amblecote
and thank you to everyone who supported us and gave generously this Christmas.
Well do to everyone who came to carol sing at Sainsbury’s on Sunday 16th December. We sang our hearts out and raised a fantastic £498.51 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital. It was lovely to see how well supported we were by the local community and shoppers at the store.
Well done to all the children and staff who worked really hard with phonics. We have received this letter from Rt Hon Nick Gibb, Minister of State for School Standards, which recognises how well St James’s have done.
